OP30 is an automatic machine for the peeling and coring
of oranges and grapefruit of different varieties. Furthermore
the same construction frame enables the processing of kiwis
and mango, with just some very simple changes in the machine
settings.
The control unit drives every cycle of the machine with extreme
precision, so as to leave the operator the only task of loading
fruits.
The machine is composed by: two row for loading fruits; two
coring and peeling groups; two slicing units; one convoyer to
discharge end products and waste; one control unit.
Rated at a speed of 30 fruits for minute, the work cycle develop
in the following way: during the loading phase, the operator
provides single fruit into each one of the cup. Orange and grapefruit
advancing further, come closer to the pliers that collect them,
holding fruit aligned in the correct position for the next phase,
which is coring. Coring proceed, is however a possible option
the for customer since the machine allow an "on" and
"off" mode. Coring is performed through a cylindrical
hole by means of which the fruit is cleaned of the central filament.
The peeling, following, which is the very special of the machine:
through a whole mechanic proceed, the peeling knife performs
a very exclusive operation being able to adjust itself to the
difference of the peel thickness on citrus fruit. Doing so,
it enhance peeling operation determining the possibility for
operator to select how much of the flavedo (colored peel) and
the albedo (internal white path) has to be removed, so to leave
an homogenous surface.
